Chef and author Ole Martin Alfsen launched his own wine in November last year, Oma Barbera d'Alba 2012, why I have not tasted it before now I have no idea but I can reveal so much that it's going to be bought again ...
Alfsen traveled to Italy and the well-known producers Davide Rosso who owns the banqueting house Giovanni Rosso Serralunga d'Alba Barolo in Piedmont. The reason that the chef would work with grape Barbera is because iestur it is a succulent and relatively soft grape that simultaneously has an acidity that makes it perfect for food, which was very important to bring out.
I think it's very good that Alfsen makes pains to create a wine unlike many other celebrities who have only given his name to a wine, he shows that he is dedicated to food and vinfaget. Another positive thing that is worth mentioning is that the grapes are harvested only usprøytede older fields.
One gets a clear cherry and blackberry aromas of wine, some meat and oak. The wine is silky in the mouth, very juicy with a long fruity and round finish. Man knows well the taste of dark berries and spices. This is a wonderful Barbera, at ridiculous iestur 150, - on vinmonopolet there is a very prisvennelig wine that goes incredibly well with many different meat dishes. This can be recommended strongly.
